The decoration is built into the making of the pot. First I apply the background mango colour while the cup is fresh on the potters wheel. Later comes the slip trailing and the handle. Finally I paint the zinnias - inspired by my garden :)

I brush the yellow on while the mug is still spinning on the wheel. The slip trail comes later and finally the zinnias when the mug is almost dry.

]]> These beautiful handmade ceramic mugs have a subtle warmth in their colouring. The firing reduced a little and burnt out the brighter colour and I think it’s beautiful! Fantastic to drink from with a lovely fine lip and roomy comfortable handle.
