Sometimes my world view narrows to whatever I am fretting over, whatever chaffing frustration is eating me.
One of the strategies I use to zoom out again is to read stories that are bigger than me – of other’s struggles and triumphs.
Books for me are a warm hug, a comfort I can dive into, wrap around myself and depend on.
Other peoples lives fascinate me. There are a few books I return to again and again because I find them such meaningful stories.
Tuesdays with Morrie-by Mitch Albom is a very moving, confronting story of death and making the most of life while we can.
The Treehouse – by Naomi Wolf – a story about families and life and maturing and reassessing – reassures me with its quiet wisdom.
The collected autobiographies of Maya Angelou- leave me in awe of a life lived vividly and determinedly
